AP.net Interview: The Cab

Posted by: Joe DeAndrea (09/12/11)
Our interview with Alex DeLeon of The Cab can be read here.
From the InterviewThere is so much music out there at people's fingertips that they could have easily forgotten about us and replaced us with another band, but three years later, our fans were still there. They held on. The album did just as good, if not better than our first record Whisper War. The thing about that is, this one had almost ZERO marketing. There were no flashy commercials, no crazy pop art ads in magazines. Nope. Just an album...word of mouth on social networks...and the support of our fans. Pretty incredible, right? I owe my life to them.

This band needs to sever all ties with their neon friends that they constantly find themselves on tour with. They are better than you'd think.

This new album was pretty good. I just wish it didn't take them 3 years. De Leon is the next Adam Levine IMO.

This band really deserves to get big. They are truly talented and would fit right in on the radio. Plus their live show sounds amazing. Great interview btw.

New album is simply more of the same, sadly. I loved their old one but it's three years later and there's no growth to show for it. :/

Oh well, there's definitely plenty of other stuff to listen to--Foster the People, Wolf Gang, The Midway State, Bombay Bicycle Club!

That list right there shows my change in taste, so it isn't a fault to them if they didn't change with me, but I feel like they won't gain any new fans from this album, that's all.

I so agree about FBR not being the same as it was 3 or 4 years ago. Label has drastically changed..

I was really into The Cab when Whisper War released, such a solid pop/rock album. I wish them all the best.

I don't care for the new album, but this is a very well-done interview and I think Alex says some genuinely poignant/interesting things here.

Such a great read. Love his voice to death. It reminds me of my childhood days... ; )

Sweet infectious pop melodies..? And did I mention that voice? Yes please.
