I've only listened to the first few songs of this, and I'm not really impressed. Someone tell me it gets better...

Keep listening. As good as "Lessons in Romantics". Check it out here: http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds/#/16

I like this album a whole lot more than ABH, but it obviously isn't as good as ALIR. This record has the expected cheesey song here and there but there are many more gems than on ABH.

I don't know how anyone could say this is as good as A Lesson in Romantics. ALIR is one of the only pop/rock records i can listen to all the way through and not have to skip a single track.

A little surprised there's no review for this thing up. I'm still buying it though, hope it's good.

I love this album actually. I'm surprised to hear myself say that, but I really enjoyed it. It's not as good as ALIR, but it blows ABH out of the water. I can only remember 3 songs where I went "ehh". I'm a HUGE Jason Lancaster/Go Radio fan. But now it's nice to know that Mayday Parade have released an album without him that holds up really well, IMO.

Welcome back! lol.
I agree, the lyrics could be better, but I really enjoyed the music.

Does anyone know who's doing the review?

I personally think it is even better than ALIR. I know nobody will agree with me. I think lyrically it is on par but the musicianship on this album sets the bar for this band. I loved ALIR and liked ABH somewhat but to me this album takes the cake. I will just accept the fact nobody will agree but imo
Mayday Parade>A Lesson In Romantics>Anywhere But Here

Been into the band for a few years and ALIR has always been a classic to me. Always will I just think as a whole this is their best effort as far as self improvement and each member's performance.

I... actually might agree with this. It's hard to tell for sure since it's so new, but this album immediately blew me away in more ways than just being catchy or whatever. I'll admit that, lyrically, ALIR is still better, but overall (at least right now) I think this is my favorite Mayday Parade album.

I mean I agree maybe lyrically it may not be ALIR but the lyrics hold up really well, fit the mood, and the musicianship is just the best they have put out so far. I am glad you agree. It may be too soon to tell but it is more than just a catchy record. The album has some really stand out high points and the rest are still pretty damn good. Album starts and ends really well. Overall if saying it is better than ALIR is too much for some to hear its at least "as good."

A must have for any mayday parade fan or anyone who liked their old stuff.
