Fireworks - We Are Everywhere EP
Record Label: Run For Cover
Release Date: December 17, 2006

Who?

Fireworks is an outfit out of Detroit, Michigan featuring former members of Let It Die and Stranger On A Train. They play a fun, yet unoriginal brand of pop punk that won't take you long to get into.

How Is It?

The We Are Everywhere EP is just a taste of what we can expect from the quintet. The EP starts off with the anthemic "Mountain Movers To Lazy Losers" which makes you believe that this band is going to be around for a while. Then you will shift foward with "Midnight Society" where you're preached "We Are All We'll Ever Need". "Michigan Boys Need To Get A Clue" is another instant classic complete with gang vocals. This band has the sound, the background, and the balls to be the next big thing.

Recommended If You Like: Hit The Lights, Set Your Goals, Pop Punk with Hardcore Influences, and your occasional handclaps and gang vocals.

These guys sound a lot like Hit the Lights. "The Midnight Society" might as well been on This Is A Stick Up... Regardless, I still like these guys. Catchy pop-punk.

Some of these "hardcore"-derived pop-punk bands just sound so far over the line that I can't even hear anything remotely resembling traits of melodic hardcore.

This is one of those bands.

Pass, big time.

Yeah, I agree. I see very little hardcore influence anymore in this kind of stuff, unless some sort of resemblence to gang vocals makes you hardcore influenced pop-punk, which has something that's been in regular pop-punk forever. This is so far to the melodic side that it's a bit much.

Being from Michigan, if you ever went to a Fireworks show around here, you'd see what i mean by "influenced"
