Wow! i knew things had changed but as i travel through this site more ( which hasn't been very much, yet) and look through this thread and the bands mentioned i'm wondering if this isn't just a major label/corporate radio joke marketing campaign. Any minute they're going to announce that they were just having a laugh. Please let it be so. God, don't have let my culture, my fucking identity, have been so devoured.
@alligator blood: You don't need to find some new, uh punk bands. You need to listen to some old ones. Geez, you're even from the UK!!!
i need to explore a whole lot more but i haven't seen anything with much connection to punk on this site yet. i'm starting to get really disturbed so i'll just list these as quickly as i can before i get to irked to type. SOME PUNK BANDS:
SUBHUMANS, Larm, Active Minds, Articles of Faith, Really Red, Neos, Electro Hippies, The EX, Discharge, UK Subs, Poison Idea, Rudimentary Peni. Geez, even the fucking Exploited.
How did all this washed out whiny rock become punk? errr! |
lol this site isnt specifically a 'punk' site, in the traditional sense of the genre. the site was started to make a community based around pop-punk and punk, and has grown to include many other genres including post-hardcore, hardcore, metal, and indie rock. if you're looking to talk about these punk bands you listed, make a thread, i'm sure there are plenty of members who do listen to those bands and would like to discuss them with you.
but he asked for NEW punk bands. NEW punk bands aren't going to sound like OLD punk bands. but if you listened to some of the bands i posted like the gaslight anthem, or balance and composure and heard washed out, whiny rock... you sir are stuck in the past.
