I don't think it's a bad album. It's very generic, and I think the review is spot on. This album has a little bit more technicality and "metal" edge to it, but it's also very predictable. That being said, I think it's enjoyable, just like Witness. I still think His Last Walk is their best. My favorite tracks on this album are Promised Ones, Bottomfeeder, I'm Bad News..., and the Reign. Bones Crew and Meet Me At the Gates are also quite solid, but I don't listen to them that often.
I'm glad to be reading a review from this album, but it seems that my fears have been realized. I liked Witness alot, and still do in fact, but everything I've heard from this album has been super bland. Witness had memorable clean melodies...something I have not heard from this album at all! It honestly sounds like Bokan put very little effort into writing his parts. Sorry dudes, you're a young band...I can't keep liking you simply out of loyalty; you gotta keep putting out good stuff.
Yea this album was incredibly boring. This band is a "guilty pleasure" of sorts, but that 1st album was actually really good and pretty versatile... this new album literally sounds like 1, 40 minute track haha!
I'm not sure what I'll think of this album. I got into this band when they first came out, and have always enjoyed what they put out, but I'm wary as to how long they can uphold catchiness without creativity.
Maybe it's the new guitarist because this album is kinda boring. I agree with this review that the album deserves about a 60 because its alright but its not very good either. It's like a worse witness.
