Who?

Canadian sweethearts Swingset Champion are here to sweep you off your feet with teen anthems inspired by the usual heartbreaks and "Awww" inducing hyperboles.

How Is It?

For being such a long album (14 tracks), you're going to find you really wish you could hear more of these guys. They're not too creative within their low to mid tempo indie-rock frame, but it'll get your Daphne Loves Derby lovin' ass swaying nonetheless. Lyrically, its more or less the same old "I wish I could see you again" schpeel. We've all heard it play out before. Paul Zacharias is has a lovely voice, but his pen-and-paper game needs honing. Instrumentally, the band is solid. Delicate without forcing yawns, it should be a good soundtrack to a rainy afternoon. From minimalist electronic kicks ("Out of My Reach") to a fetching pop-rock flow ("Giants"), To Those Who Wait... will have what you're looking for. Just a little more tuning to this album would have been preferable, but its a damn good start.
