Cassettes Tapes were kinda coming back in 09, I guess they going to be back full force this year or next year? Is it because Compact Disc's arent selling? I love this band but I hate Cassette Tapes, I hope they dont come back.

at least with records i have like a "listening experience," having to prep it to play it, like get rid of any dust, clean the stylus, etc

do not get the appeal of tapes.

The appeal of tapes are incredibly stupid imo past making a novelty mixtape. And I only make novelty mixtapes for friends who have cars without CD players (which is surprisingly a lot of them)

Yeah I'm really not understanding all of the cassette releases recently. My Crosley player has a tape deck, but I don't think I've ever used it. I guess if it's your absolute favorite album and you need it on every format that it is released in....

You have prep with tape too.

1. Locate cassette player.
2. (after two years of searching for tape player) Wind tape back into spool with pencil.
3. Realize you've made a huge mistake.

The appeal is almost certainly just collectibility, so I don't see why it bothers anyone

...especially since most I've seen are limited to small quantities

I want tapes just because my car has a tape player.

the tapes can look quite smart, and i have some limited release cassettes that look great and i'm glad to have but won't play too often.

IMO:
Vinyl > Cassettes > CDs
