That's what they all say.

Not trying to be a pessimist, but just saying though.
Haha I don't blame you. But she's not the kind to go around dating plenty of guys. It's why I consider myself very lucky.

The challenge is going to be making sure that the two of you don't hold each other back after you graduate. For example she might want to go to college in Sydney and start a career as a ____________ , and you might have other plans. Don't create a short sighted plan that you will regret.

We're going to the same uni and we're pretty open about what we wanna do. I never try to hold her back. Well thanks for the help anyway.

Let me create a hypothetical here:

If she said she changed her mind and said she was going to another school, besides the disappointment of her not being there, would you still be as hyped to attend university name here? The fact that you're young means that your mentality will change, so hold on until it seems like time to let go. If that time never comes and your not just ignoring the future chasing memories, then it will last.

15 months. hmm I think it COULD work out.

The main thing is to make sure you both have your free time in college. Go out and meet new people. You don't have to have the same friends.

If she makes some friends and gets invited to a party but you weern't invited don't get all pissed off and get in a fight. Let her go. Because if you both do break up then you both could end up not having a life at all because you two were always around each other and wouldn't go live your own lives.

So pretty much just don't be a jealous asshole and it should be ok

I guess I'm trying to say, don't feel obligated to create a situation where you're just altering your future the way you would otherwise want it to be with her. I've heard stories of people who moved across a country to be with someone and the relationship soured months later. Now, they're stuck in a place they never wanted to be in otherwise, with no other friends, family, and possibly poor career options. If you guys fit into each other future, great, if not, you're going to bottle your regret up and possibly explode after decades of disappointment.

Does "lasting" constitute marriage? If not, you have a chance. If so, you're almost definitely screwed.

Very true. I don't want to be the person who blocks her career or stuff mine up too. Then again we're not really doing anything we don't want to.

Mine has so far. But in most cases they don't. Don't worry about the odds though, just enjoy yourself and be ready to work at it.

I'm sorry if I sounded like a Debbie Downer buzzkill, just realize that nobody makes a bad decision thinking it might be a bad decision later on, and that's what sucks about them. You guys sound happy, enjoy it and don't worry about the future. When and IF the time comes, you will know.

We're not committed to anything big. She's been partying after our final exams and I'm cool with it so I don' get jealous with those things and neither does she. We haven't had a single fight yet either The main thing is we talk to each other about stuff. Like if she gets pissed or doesn't like something I do she'd talk to me about rather than get all pissed. And of course we're getting new friends in uni

Well that's good to know. I've just heard lots on people stuffing up after high school and we don't wanna be two of them.

Nah mate it's all good. I was asking for your opinion We're taking it day by day so we're fine for now. Not taking it for granted while enjoying it while we can.
