[Lueda Alia]

I've been meaning to make a new thread for all albums that have come out on the label, but I'll just keep them all in one thread instead. If you're not familiar with Erased Tapes, they're home to: Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm, Peter Broderick, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, World's End Girlfriend.... in other words, this label is constantly releasing some of my favourite instrumental/modern classical releases to date.

This thread was inspired by Oliveray, the new project from two of my favourite musicians: Peter Broderick and Nils Frahm. The debut Wonders comes out on December 12th, so I'll keep the thread focused on them for a while.

Anything Peter Broderick is involved in usually rules. His solo stuff, Horse Feathers, now this... doesn't he sometimes play with Balmorhea too?

I think so.

You should check out Norfolk & Western if you haven't yet. He's played with them too. Great indie-rock band.

Nah. He's a big Sputniker. Where this kind of stuff is much more strongly received.

Fantastic record label. I'm only really familiar with Olafur Arnalds, but I'm aware of the other artists you mentioned in the OP. I have a few samplers of theirs and there's lots of good stuff on it.

Just in case anyone was unaware Olafur Arnalds has a project called 'Living Room Songs'. "Ólafur Arnalds creates and releases a new song, one per day for one whole week. The songs will be recorded and filmed live in the living room of his Reykjavík apartment and released instantly for FREE as streamed videos and MP3 downloads."

And yeah, totally agree -- everyone should grab Living Room Songs. I covered the project a bit on the front page earlier this fall.

I'd highly recommend checking out Dustin O'Halloran too, if you haven't yet. He's one half of A Winged Victory for the Sullen, and he's always working with Erased Tapes musicians. Great musician, and his album Lumiere is in my Top 10 this year.

It's on mediafire as a zip. The songs are free anyway, so I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem for you to download that.

Just downloaded World's End Girlfriend and for some reason Japanese characters don't show up in my iTunes, so I've got 21 tracks with titles that all look like rectangles. Bizarrely though, when I try and copy and paste these rectangles into AP, it comes up in the original Japanese characters.

Anybody know if there's a way I can fix this, so I can get the track names looking proper on my iTunes, or am I buggered?

Those are the actual titles. Try to enter them manually by copying and pasting?
