Detroit aren't my #1 team, but they're in my top 5, so I'm not super concerned with how they spend their money, though I like to see them succeed. They were damn close to the World Series this year, and now they've got a lot of help towards getting that far again this year. It wasn't the WISEST contract, but somebody was gonna give him that deal/a deal similar to that eventually - that's the only reason it's taken so long. Boras and Fielder wanted a long contract, and somebody eventually sucked it up and signed.
