This. Synths sound great, instruments, nope.
I'll say this about it.
His electronic samples and effects SOUND great but are vastly overused in the music he produces.
His guitars EQ or modeling needs to be changed, incorporating more low end and just a tad more gain to sound "beefy" and less tonal.
He needs a quality drum kit to replace his stale, clicky samples.
Some renovation would do his studios wonders
As an audio student, I agree with this completely.
This band is great and has a ton of potential. Been following them a while now and I gotta say, they've been pretty solid throughout. This record should be great. Though I do have a couple critiques. I feel like they're almost holding back from screaming (take the term with a grain of salt) vocals at times. It's not a big deal, and it definitely doesn't hinder them in any way, but some parts of that song are very built up, and some screams would've added to the overall emotion of it all. Australia's been pumping out some great bands, now Rise just needs to sign House Vs. Hurricane and they're set.
