11:15 PM on 02/01/12 | I feel like I can go through their new album and with every song point out the mainstream pop song that "inspired" it...
For example, this song is their remake of Jordin Sparks' "Battlefield," their song "Toy Soldiers" is way too reminiscent of Adam Lambert's "What Do You Want From Me," etc...

11:16 PM on 02/01/12 | I was gonna marry this girl, I swear to god she was the one. I messed up, (I didn't cheat) and she left me on July 4th. Everytime I hear this song I cry like a little baby, nothing can describe my feelings more. I'm a fucking 25 year old pussy, but this song is beautiful. I'm kinda afraid to watch the video...

11:29 PM on 02/01/12 | I Was Just Happy To Be A Contender Fuck, their videos are so awesome.
One of the best songs of last year.
That censorship sounds like shit though.
EDIT: Girl was like a mix between Emmy Rossum and Mila Kunis. yes please.

11:29 PM on 02/01/12 | The synth line in this is just so dirty.
Not quite as entertaining as "Haven't Had Enough", although obviously this is going for a heavier theme. A plus seeing the same girl in this though.
Awesome that they're the featured artist on MTV - hopefully gets them some good exposure Stateside.

I see what you mean but at the same time they did it so much better in those cases. From the outside it sounds like mainstream pop but they have their own flair that really makes their music more than just radio produced hits.

11:40 PM on 02/01/12 | The song that goes like danananana Video is meh but this band has so much potential. The guy has real, legitimate pipes and the musicianship is some of the best in the genre. The production of this album really gets overlooked, as well, its pristine.

11:48 PM on 02/01/12 | Super happy they made a music video for this song because it's my favorite one off their new album. :3

Go on, I'm interested! Just for fun, but I am. I do that all the time, and as much as I adore MT I'm always thinking about where the idea of the song came from (Say anything - How you remind me, Cross my heart - Girlfriend, Acadia - Move along, etc...).
I could point out some (the obvious, California gurls for Haven't had enough, Fix you for the last part of Porcelain, Hide and seek on No place like home, Halo for By Now) but I didn't even know about that Lambert's song!
And Battlefield?! | | |

Haha, you actually nailed most of them (Halo, Hide and Seek, California Girls)... There were some other ones that if I were to sit down and listen to the record again I could probably remember.
When it happens once or twice on an album, I typically let it slide. But when it's a reoccurring theme across the whole album, I feel like I have to say something...
And I guess it's the way they build the chorus until the cut out and start chanting "Fallout" that reminds me of the ending rendition of the "Battlefield" chorus.
