I just got in a huge argument with this kid I know and I got pissed off enough that they left to go watch Fight Club and I stayed in.
Do you guys think that someone who has only heard the singles off American Idiot (4 years ago, when they were released), and doesn't remember the lyrics to any of the songs can say with any authority the album sucks? For that matter, I said if he doesn't know the words/lyrics then he doesn't really know the song because he claimed "I can play the songs in my head right now." I think lyrics are generally an important part of an album, especially a concept album.
Feel free to disagree with my, hate on me for skipping out on Fight Club, or whatever. If I'm wrong I want to know.
I dont think it's necessary to listen to an entire album in order to write off the artist or the album if that's what you're asking. I certainly wouldn't want to listen to Ke$has album in its entirety in order to have the authority to say that i dont enjoy Ke$ha. However, if you claim to be a fan of the band then you should definitely listen to an entire album instead of just singles.
