Saw the All-American Rejects last night, so I've been cycling through their discography for the past week or so. Some of the new songs sounded incredible, so this new album should do well.
I'll probably always cherish the Forget the Night Ahead era the most, but I definitely warmed up to this album. It's just cold and straight-ahead consistent.
Totally agree with the Gotye recommendation. I checked it out on a whim and haven't stop listening since. It's an album that really doesn't have a "flow" to it - so many different styles/influences can be heard - but that's part of what makes the album so incredible. Love it.
I'm really really impressed with the new Hit the Lights record. It's such a progression from their past stuff. If you're turning away from it cause you don't like pop-punk, check it out cause it sounds different. Parts of it remind me of Saosin, Anberlin, and Taking Back Sunday.
