In response to your blog comments, I've only ever seen them once - I think their first tour with Kurt? (someone can correct me, was Crime in Stereo, The Chariot, and Poison the Well) Anyway, I remember thinking then that Mess and Kurt had great energy, but the rest of the band were pretty stagnant - although I remember that night being more annoyed by their insistence to break up the set's momentum with constant tuning and monitor adjustment requests.
