I know absolutely nothing about playing guitar, yet my love for everything and anything Thrice is keeping me very entertained.

I really want to see what he does with the lead part during the chorus. I've learned the rest of the songs, but according to some other tabs I need a whammy pedal in order to play said lead part. I'm really hoping he says different.

Teppei plays the chorus riff an octave lower and uses the Digitech Whammy pedal to modulate the pitch to the octave that you hear. The expression foot pedal on the Whammy also allows him to get the bit of emphasis on certain notes by gliding into the correct pitch.

The Gibson video's version of the chorus riff (i.e. skipping the Whammy modulation and just playing it in the higher octave) emulates it fairly well, but it is not how Teppei plays this riff or achieves this sound.

I figured that he did actually use a whammy pedal, but I couldn't ever figure out a way to play it without it, so playing this song has been on the back burner for me.

Sounds like an easier way to play the song in drop D. I always see Dustin and Teppei playing it in drop C

All I want is for them to release The Alchemy Index instrumentals.

I already knew how to play this, but it was interesting to find out the actual second chord of the bridge (i just played a regular power chord shape)

Not a hard song to figure out, but this is really cool!

Yeah. Dustin's voice is amazing, but those videos they made using instrumentals made me really want those as well.
