I really want to see what he does with the lead part during the chorus. I've learned the rest of the songs, but according to some other tabs I need a whammy pedal in order to play said lead part. I'm really hoping he says different. |
Teppei plays the chorus riff an octave lower and uses the Digitech Whammy pedal to modulate the pitch to the octave that you hear. The expression foot pedal on the Whammy also allows him to get the bit of emphasis on certain notes by gliding into the correct pitch.
The Gibson video's version of the chorus riff (i.e. skipping the Whammy modulation and just playing it in the higher octave) emulates it fairly well, but it is not how Teppei plays this riff or achieves this sound.
