The Swellers
Polar Bear Club
I realize all 3 of these bands are known well enough on this site, but I don't see much discussion about any of them, especially off this site, and from my personal observation of other people/friends, and from going to shows.
So I'm sorry if anyone read this post and laughed or felt confused. |
dredg is really good, especially live. Fans of Coheed and Cambria or Circa Survive could find a lot to like if they gave them a shot.
The Swellers fucked up on their new album. If they can muster up the emotion and intensity from their younger yeas once again then I think they'll be fine, but they won't survive my bands-I-like list with another record like their last. Their live show is
awesome and the singer is one of the genre's best.
Polar Bear Club, I don't really get all the love. I've got their three records, but I've never heard anything from them that makes me think "I need to see this" or "I can't wait to listen to this album again". Their live show was fairly average last year, too. By no means a bad band, but pretty run-of-the-mill. I'm always ready to give their new albums a chance though, do they have anything planned? I hope they prove me wrong one day.
