Strung OutBlackhawks Over Los Angeles
Release Date: June 12th, 2007
Record Label: Fat Wreck Chords

Who:

One of the most instantly recognizable bands from the 90’s SoCal punk scene, Strung Out, emerge with their first release since 2004’s Exile In Oblivion.

How Is It?:

After putting out a few of the seminal punk rock albums of the 90’s with Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues and Twisted By Design, one would expect Strung Out’s creative songwriting well to have run dry. That assumption couldn’t be more wrong. Blackhawks Over Los Angeles shows that the band is still capable of writing songs that are not only catchy, but are pertinent to world issues and personal emotion as well. Although many tracks display a slower pace than we are used to with the band, they still contain the melodic yet technical aspects Strung Out fans have come to love (listen to “Calling” for a perfect example). It’s good to see Strung Out sticking to their guns and making punk rock a force to be reckoned with in the current music scene.
