Pretty good, but not great. Sounds a lot like a Continuum to Battle Studies if you ask me (see what I did there).

It sounds like him, vocally and songwriting-wise(great since he had vocal problems not too long ago). The instrumentation gives a little evidence to some new things that he's trying so that's good.

Feeling it! I've enjoyed each of his efforts, all for different reasons. The common thread is his ability to connect, and to create an undeniable vibe.

Also-- I try to keep in mind that his radio tracks are often that... good radio tracks. His records are all deeper than that & this sounds like a great kick-off.

This is a great first single. Enough of classic Mayer to hold on to his older fans, and enough indication to the direction he is taking with this album.
Also, on a cool side note on the album, the title track features back up vocals by Crosby and Nash.

I would have liked to hear him go even more alt-country/folk than that, but I've loved everything he's done and have no reason to doubt him now. Probably his best lead off single since "Bigger Than My Body, which isn't saying much since the first singles off the last two albums were pretty much my least favorite tracks, but still.

Keep in mind that this is the single, I think there's still a good chance he'll get more folky on the actual album.
