Reading this really bummed me out. Fall Out Boy have been my favourite band since the TTTYG days and I still think Folie a Deux is their best record by far. I don't get why more people never grew with them like I did. I can only listen to TTTYG and FUCT because of the nostalgia nowadays, they were capable of writing much better songs and they did. Sucks to hear they actually got booed for it.

Also, Soul Punk had some really good songs. I still love "Allie" just to name one.

I completely agree with your Fall Out Boy sentiments...about both your album preferences and personal experience. A large majority of my old high school would walk around wearing boys like girls or cute is what we aim for or the maine (etc) t-shirts but then would call you out for listening to Fall Out Boy because that just beneath their highly refined level of musical expertise.

Anyway, Reading this made me want to track down Patrick and give him a hug.

Similar to my high school, but not quite. People loved anything that was played on top 40 radio, except Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance.

This is what I don't understand. Fall Out Boy fans aren't 15 anymore - so why do they still demand the same band? Brand New grew into something completely different and was hailed by all, yet FOB tries to grow and are belittled. (Don't get sidetracked by the Brand New reference, please).

I'm just as confused as you are.

This so much.

That album made me fall in love with FOB all over again. I have to admit (at the time) they sorta lost me with Infinity on High, although I like that album a lot more now. I can't say enough good things about Folie a Deux.

Glad to see lots of people share similar sentiments about FAD. I love how they kept progressing and it's one of the many reasons why they're still my favourite band eight years later.
