If there is one thing that I have learned from perusing the AbsolutePunk forums for over five years now, it's that our community has the tendency to be brutally honest if something rubs them the wrong way. From insulting the shit of out Tom Delonge's current singing voice, to totally dismantling Say Anything's latest "return to form," AP users tend to have a way with words to say the least. Now, rather nervously, I ask you guys to provide the same sort of insight for my band's first EP. Inspired mainly by our favorite bands of the 90s (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Pavement, Guided by Voices, etc.), the "Something Else" EP is the first thing we have bothered recording despite being in a band for 3 years now. Despite working so hard on getting these tracks down, I'm curious to know if the songwriting is even worth shaking a stick at. Give it a listen for free at lightfields.org and let me know EXACTLY what you think.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Edit -- Here are some soundcloud links to make it easier. Our EP is composed of these three songs:
1) Something Else - http://snd.sc/GE8W2U
2) Sabado - http://snd.sc/GE8QZ6
3) Backseat (RIYL Brand New's spacier side) - http://snd.sc/GE7SvI
