Fans of Brand New, Straylight Run, and Northstar... meet Halos. For this Unsigned Showcase we're streaming three songs on the band's AP Profile, including "Helium" from their new EP. Halos' lyrical poignancy and raw delivery will remind you of a time when a few now notorious Long Island bands dominated the scene.
not a brandnew or a straylight run....i doubt tahts what they were going for anyways but i can see the comparison. they're alright but a lot of all this music is just starting to sound the same

Yeah, I didn't really hear the Brand New influence until someone recently pointed it out but some of it does give me a Your Fav Weapon-era BN. Trust me, don't judge them until you've heard the entire EP because there isn't one song on there that sounds exactly the same. I can honestly say those four songs have given me more hope than just about any other new band I've heard in years. Give them a chance and I doubt you'll be dissapointed.
"We lock the doors at night for fear that we are in your sight" = "We all got wood and nails, we tear down hate and factory".
Just pointing out.
[Edit: I wanted to point out that I enjoyed listening to those songs, I just thought the similarity in lyrical and melody structure ought to be noted. I don't mind it; more bands could be better served by emulating Brand New, instead of, say, Fall Out Boy.]
