Atlanta's defense is terrible

I read earlier in the week that Dunta Robinson is moving inside to nickel. He's always given up a lot of completions on the outside, but he's a solid tackler...so no one really gives him any crap about it.

John Abraham is just getting old. He had 9.5 sacks in 2011, but he's aging into a situational pass rusher and he can't be an every-down end anymore. Their lack of a high round pick (Julio Jones trade) leaves them weak in the pass rushing category again.

Their offense can be terrifying if everything clicks. Matt Ryan, as boring as he is, can play and he has a lot of weapons.

I think the NFC South will be very competitive but Tampa will finish last. They made some good moved in the offseason but I'm not completely sold on Freeman and their offense.

Drew Brees and the Saints will eventually work out a deal and they will be fine. Maybe a step back but still a very solid team that can win the division.

The Falcons are tough to read because I don't think Ryan is the quarterback people sometimes hype him up to be. And their defense has some holes.

As far as the Panthers, there are no concerns on offense at all. The team actually improved on that side of the ball. It's no secret defense is the weak spot...and it's a big weak spot. However, I think people underestimate how important Beason is to the defense. Having him back and adding Luke will be huge. Also, we started two 3rd round picks last year at DT but later on in the season we found some better players who I had never heard of. We started winning games when those guys came in. The DT position will still be weak but it will be improved. If the defense can just finish 15-20 overall, the wins will go up when you consider how strong the offense is.

Amini Silatolu is far from a sure thing. He'll have to make a huge transition from Division II football to the NFL. That's a GIANT leap.

I like Brandon LaFell, but he has a lot to prove. There's no way you can say there's no concerns on offense when he's their #2 receiver.

Luke Kuechly is a beast, and he'll improve their front seven big time. The secondary is the bigger problem in Carolina though.

Carolina won four of the last six because they played against garbage, not because Sione Fua and Terrell McClain were replaced by street free agents:

Indianapolis
Houston with TJ Yates starting at QB and no Andre Johnson
Tampa Bay twice

And they lost to Atlanta and New Orleans.

I think we can contend for a wild card spot but I don't have much faith in the pass defense. Munnerlyn or Butler could be starting as our #2 corner and I'm not sure who will be our starting strong safety either since we signed a few lower/mid-tier guys to compete with Sherrod Martin.

Pretty sure Darius Butler or Josh Norman will start and Captain Munnerlyn will play inside the numbers. Either way, they're screwed at that position.

That is my thought. Munnerlyn's skillset is best suited for a nickel or dime package because he's too small to be a starting corner. Godfrey is solid but kind of overrated.

I don't think he's overrated or underrated. He's just better than Sherrod Martin, and that's not a difficult task.

I think Godfrey and Nakamura will be starters at safety. And they did draft a safety, but it was in the 7th round which I guess doesn't count. But I think Luke will help our safeties by being able to cover the TE in passing situations.

At CB I think Norman will win the #2 spot and Captain will go back to the nickel.

The secondary will still struggle, but they will be improved from last season (which isn't saying much). Same for the run defense. It will be improved but at the same time, still struggle.

While I generally agree, if he doesn't have a new deal by the July 15th deadline, I think you'll see some very serious shit go down. Because I honestly can't imagine him playing under a 1yr franchise tag after what happened last time. Especially for a team that was just unwilling to commit to his terms after one of the greatest statistical seasons ever...it'd have to make him wonder if they'd even want him back if he got hurt or if they'd move on.
