its always been ran like that. every 3-4 years they bring somebody in to restart it all from scratch.
holmgrens going in the right direction though. bad move to destroy it all now. pieces are in place. they could be competitive as early as 2013 if they stay the course.
and the fanbase lets it slide because they feel theyre owed a winning team. if a coach comes in and isnt successful right away, theyre calling for his head. its incredibly cyclical.
If you ask me, it's a make or break year for Shurmur. I think they've done pretty solid with their draft selections over the past couple of years, but I fully disagreed with the Weeden pick. This team isn't going anywhere this year, and it is shortsighted to bring in a nearly 29-year-old quarterback for a team that is likely at least 2 years away. Not like there aren't some solid prospects who are 6-7 years younger that will be available year when they'll likely have a top 5 pick again...
Not sure Holmgren deserves to be let go, but such is the business when you've got new management.
