Yeah I think it was the worst of the 6 since Teenage Politics. I think the last 3 were their best.

The Ever Passing Moment was easily my favorite. I liked the pop sensibilities mixed with melodic punk, but it also has sentimental value. If this is in that same vein, I would not be disappointed at all.

It honestly sounds nothing like The Ever Passing Moment. It's got a real Life in General/Buffalo feel to it.

Sorry man, I've got to whole heartedly disagree with you. I think this has hints of every album since Life in General, but it absolutely screams Everpassing Moment to me. A good BEAA influence too, minus BEAA's lame songs.

I've heard it probably 20 times through and stand by this observation. Any track specific questions/disagreements I'd love to hear.

Honestly a lot of it is production quality. The production has been upped on all albums after SGTWOTB, in my opinion which is why it's hard to compare the specific sound to earlier albums.

And sorry but saying BEAA was their best "by a mile" is simply wrong.

The Everpassing Moment was my favorite as well.

I haven't heard the new record, but what I think is so awesome is how everyone has a different favorite album of theirs. It never seems like there's one universally panned MxPx album. I know Life in General gets a big vote as overall favorite most of the time, but it seems like there's lots of good things to say about each of their records and each one appealed to a different group of listeners while still maintaining the core listening base. Years later, their albums still hold up well and are extremely listenable. All of that is a sign of a REALLY great band in my opinion.
