Does anybody out there remember this site at all? Was around maybe 10 years ago and was a definitive database of all things EMO/post hardcore. It used to be a great starting point to get into new music

Or maybe I imagined it all? :-O

Thanks for the suggestion - I'm still pretty sure it was Tickle Me Emo though - It had a blue background skin, wasnt particularly pretty to look at but had a definitive list of very cool bands - I remember getting into all the Scandinavian band thanks to it (Fireside, Brandtson, Last Days of April etc)

Nope, you didn't imagine it. That was my site. I think it lasted from '97-'99. There was very very little content about emo on the internet at the time so I was trying to fill that void. I kept it simple (and yes, not very pretty!) because I was in college and didn't have much spare time, so it ended up being a simple list of links. I let people submit their own links with little review on my part so the site linked to tons of bands that never made any impact. There was a forum too but I don't think it was too popular. I graduated in '99 and got too busy to keep the site up, plus that's when emo started to explode so much better sites cropped up. That's also when mp3.com and Napster emerged and people were just a click away from hearing emo music so there wasn't much use for trolling around band sites.

I'm glad you found it useful. It was fun to work on that site and get to talk to some band members online. Some bands even sent me cds and merch.

I came across this thread because I was nostalgic for the old site and wanted to see if it had any mentions. Here are some snapshots from archive.org.
