I was at his first ever public show at Track 29 in Chattanooga. Absolutely phenomenal. If you have the chance to see him, TAKE IT. He played a good mix of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, and his solo stuff. I'm a huge White Stripes fan, but I never got to see them live (the only time they ever played Atlanta was Music Midtown Festival when I was 13). So when Jack came out and started playing "Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground", I cried.
this sounds pretty much exactly like i had hoped for.
also, regarding the ICP thing... i don't like ICP and i am sure that jack white doesn't get deep into them or anything either but the detroit music scene (which jack white is intrinsically identified with, even though he's a nashvile ) doesn't work the same as others i have seen. around here artists collaborate very freely even if one artist doesn't necessarily enjoy the music or even the ethos of the other artist. that is how you get around in the diverse detroit scene, by collaborating with a lot of different people... i am sure that it's just ingrained in his musical upbringing to work with new people. let's just say if ICP asked me to collab with them on releasing something, i would too.
