I love it when you can tell the people just came for the party and not the actual bands. If that was an actual HWM show, that place would have been torn apart.

It's a weird, humbling feeling when you realize how small your personal music gods are. I would be on stage yelling at the crowd for being lame as shit.

New record is easily my most anticipated of the year.

They sound incredible. And wow, does that crowd blow. But what doesn't blow? Black's neon green bass. Killer.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they were told "you'll play through the house amps." It was some Rolling Stone thing so I'm sure there were other sponsors that had to have their products displayed.

I was pleasantly surprised by the new song, too.

I'm not sure what the deal is with the Rolling Stone show, if it was badges only or if it was just not well publicized, but HWM also played a free show at the Shirts for a Cure showcase definitely had a better crowd. There are so many shows at SXSW that don't bring out the right people, because it's not well publicized or because they have free beer and a tiny room that gets filled up with non-fans.
