Last but certainly not least...

THE RAMONES - IT'S ALIVE

One of the single greatest rock and roll performances ever recorded. America's Fab Four.

Live albums are never an essential listen for me. If it's somebody I really like, then I'll buy them, but 99% of the time I prefer the studio versions of the songs. That said, here are some of my favourite live albums;

The Who - Live At Leeds
MC5 - Back In The USA
James Brow - Live At the Apollo, 1962
Sam Cooke - Live At the Harlem Square Club
Bob Dylan - I like a lot of the many Bootleg Series that he's put out, I'll go for number 4 as my favourite overall
Bruce Springsteen - Live 1975 - 85

And more recent ones:
Green Day - Bullet In A Bible
Thrice - Live At The House Of Blues
Tegan and Sara - Get Along
NOFX - I Heard They Suck Live / They've Gotten Even Worse Live!
Bad Religion - 30 Years Live
yessss.

My tops;

The Who - Live at Leeds
Sam Cooke - Live in Harlem Square
James Brown - Live at the Apollo 1962
The Mars Volta - Scabdates
Grateful Dead- Europe 72
Reel Big Fish - Our Live Album is Better Than Your Live Album
Blink 182 - The Mark, Tom and Travis Show
Rx Bandits - Live at Bonnaroo

The Who - Live At Leeds
The Stone Roses - Blackpool Live
Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings
Pearl Jam - Benaroyal Hall

I'd love a Death Cab live album or a good quality bootleg, any good ones around?

Never been a fan of Live albums. I'd rather hear the music live or hear the polished recorded tracks. I don't understand why you would want a crappy version of an album, I know they play the songs differently live but I'll go see the band if I want that experience.

Plus I have limited space on my ipod for duplicates of tracks.

Just wanted to show appreciation for the Waynes World quote. If we're going old school, "How The West Was Won" has to get put up there. Beats any Zeppelin studio album.

I love Jason Mraz live because A. he has an awesome backing band and B. he does so many songs that don't have studio versions.

Typically don't like them. I love live DVDs, but when it comes to just the audio I'd rather just watch it rather than listen.

It's gotta be on everyone's list ... even if they don't generally like live albums.

I will admit, the whole live/bootleg thing is definitely for more of the die-hard fans. I doubt I'd go listen to a live set from someone I don't listen to all that often. But for my favorite, favorites ... it's just more material to get into. Kinda explains this list.
I recommend some of the blink-182 bootleg's they are equally as good as The Mark Tom and Travis Show. Some of the best:

1. The Dollar Bill Tour - Small club with great sound. All of the older songs are played with a Self-Titled-Era twist

2. The Final Tour prior to breakup from Atlanta - Excellent quality, but with a much more updated setlist.

3. Pop-Disaster Tour - Not the best quality, but the memories are amazing.

Didn't read through the whole thread so I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I'm quite shocked over the omission of Clarity Live. Especially if you saw the tour, each listen gives you chills.
