Sorkin's shows are the type that are well received by just about everyone because they're very good shows, but I'm not really sure what Jason is getting at. West Wing aside, I've never heard people talk about best shows on television in the same breath as Sports Night or Studio 60. Solid programming, absolutely, top 5-10 on TV at the time, I'd be hard pressed to agree.

The "Sorkin’s shows are the type..." line from Jason's post is a direct quotation from the New Yorker article, he just didn't put quotation marks around it. That was the phrase I said was meaningless.
