Well dude, judging by your favorite music in your profile its typical you'd say that. If your not into the metal scene then chances are your not going to be to thrilled about a metal band winning top band for said city.


Im happy for the dudes, I have seen many shows to date and they by far put on one of the best live experiences I have ever seen and on top of that they are some of the nicest guys in the business.

Also to answer the other guys question about if this album is better than their last two, while I say no its defintley up there. I don't think anything they do will top Frail Words Collapse because that CD was just pure awesome. I think it may top Meaning In Tragedy simply for the fact that there really are no more of the "cut and paste" riffs as the other dude stated. Plus this album adds a bit of a thrashy feel some of the songs (See: Within Destruction)

Its a solid CD if your on the fence about picking it up, thats for sure.

i think its damn good

being from san diego, im happy for the guys. there really arent many big name bands from here that have emerged lately. most of them have been in the scene for awhile. if you look at who they were up against, im happy they beat out some of the other people like jason mraz and slightly stoopid.

I like how the new album has a lot more melodic singing, but manages to feel like they're not trying to get more mainstream attention at the same time. And I'd say that Frail Words Collapse is better but An Ocean Between Us is definitely better than Shadows Are Security
