Not sure if you listened to all four songs but there is a bit of HWM in this, surprised you dislike it so much. To address an earlier post of yours, if I got this at a local show or a band sent it as a demo, it would stand out from most such handouts pretty greatly I think. Just well put together songs.

Gruff vocals? That's about the only HWM in there. Bass lines aren't even close. Drums sound hollow. Guitar riffs are definitely different stylistically.

Not hearing it.
