RIAA Breaks Ground With First Trial

As the first of 20,000 RIAA lawsuits that actually got to trial, a jury found Jammie Thomas liable for 222,000 dollars worth of copyright infringement damages. Read the story here.

I reworded it to make more sense. I believe that there have been around 20,000 lawsuits - this is just the first one that made it past settlement and into the courtroom.

For the dip in sales, this sure as fuck will make up some of the difference. 9k a song, with at least an album a day (to make it easy, cd is 10 tracks) thats over 3million dollars in back charges. All I have to say is FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

Yeah, it equals a whole lot more based upon copyright law. The price was significantly reduced. Probably should have just bought of iTunes at $.99 and saved some money.
