People are really being dicks in this thread. Personally, I'm crushed. I was really looking forward to that new album Craig said they were recording just 8 days ago!! D.R.U.G.S. got me through a really rough patch during my sophomore year and their headlining show earlier this year was so great...I'm in shock honestly. I get that they aren't getting a lot of love in this thread, but every single member was so damn talented and wow, I am going to miss this group so much. They had so much more potential left in them; this was only supposed to be the beginning. :'(
lol at all the kiddies on the official post who are sad that D.R.U.G.S. broke up. The best thing that can happen now is to send every band member back to his original band and get them back together. How awesome would that be?
How can anyone honestly get pissed off at Craig for rejoining Chiodos? He didn't end D.R.U.G.S. in order to pursue his own interests, the other guys in the band probably didn't see everyone as committed to it as they felt was necessary. I may be wrong, but I haven't seen any sign of bad blood between the members, so it's still speculation, right?
I agree with what someone mentioned a couple pages back that Craig most likely will not have any substantial financial gain by this move. the guy had the opportunity to rejoin a band he helped start when he was in High School; the band that sparked his initial popularity; the band that allowed him to get where he is today. He was probably just happy they were at least interested in discussing his return as an actual possibility.
I doubt many serious musicians would pass up that opportunity when all the problems causing the initial feud have been reconciled. Despite what most kids on here may believe, even the most artists tend to value their friendships within their band more than monetary gain.
And finally, Brandon left Chiodos because regardless of how good Illuminaudio may or may not have sounded, they apparently didn't feel the connection required to keep it going. They guys didn't talk for months at a time. If you are required to tour half the year and the other half you don't so much as pick up a phone and call the guys you'll be in close-quarters with, you can't expect to just put everything aside and get along as if you're best friends when you're on the road.
I thought that this might happen anyway. Especially is Jason isn't coming back. I hope that isn't the case, but I remember him talking about wanting to start a family etc...
