Cobra and GCH were not bands from the 'scene'. They were bands that were obviously signed to get radio play. They were not bands that fit the typical FBR signing. Fun. already had a popular record out and were about to blow up when they were signed. It was a likelihood with all of them that they were going to become mainstream.
Unlike with paramore or Fall Out Boy, who were two small pop-punk bands.
...Gym Class weren't signed when they were popular? They were nothing? Cobra came from Midtown, and was a total scene band before they went mainstream... That took, what, till their third album?
Or Paramore... Who was just Hayley signed to Atlantic, then they found a band for her, they called it Paramore, and then released it on Fueled By. Paramore was FORMED by a major label! They were in no way some small "scene" band.
Which is all whatever, but they haven't been a real indie label for years. Not saying that's bad or anything, I love FBR.
