Still probably knew somebody haha. Not that many bands just get signed out of no where in 2012 to this sorta label. Interested to check these guys out though based on the comments.
It's not really out of nowhere if you live in Columbus and see how they regularly sell out some of the biggest venues in the city. I'm sure those numbers mean a lot to an A&R (do these still exist?) signing a band, especially if their digital sales numbers and other things are similarly impressive.

That being said, they aren't necessarily my cup of tea, but their live show is seriously great.

Totally agree. Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship, Fun. to an extent.

Gone of the days of Fall Out Boy, Paramore, The Academy Is... etc.

But you named three of their other biggest bands? All of which were mainstream... Haha.

When they were signed? Really? When Paramore were like 17 was it? 19? They were mainstream? Okay then.

According to Decaydance's Wiki page, Joie de Vivre is signed to them.

Is this indeed true?

I saw it coming. There was a Fueled By Ramen word search in the latest Alternative Press, and I happened to stumble upon their name. Totally psyched for them.
If you all don't know, Josh Dun is in this band, and he was a touring drummer for House of Heroes.
Listen to "Guns For Hands", "Ode To Sleep", and "House Of Gold".
also i saw this bands name in the search as well at the bottom NineTeen Ninety Six
btw did you find anything other the bands in the word search

Cobra and GCH were not bands from the 'scene'. They were bands that were obviously signed to get radio play. They were not bands that fit the typical FBR signing. Fun. already had a popular record out and were about to blow up when they were signed. It was a likelihood with all of them that they were going to become mainstream.

Unlike with paramore or Fall Out Boy, who were two small pop-punk bands.

...Gym Class weren't signed when they were popular? They were nothing? Cobra came from Midtown, and was a total scene band before they went mainstream... That took, what, till their third album?

Or Paramore... Who was just Hayley signed to Atlantic, then they found a band for her, they called it Paramore, and then released it on Fueled By. Paramore was FORMED by a major label! They were in no way some small "scene" band.

Which is all whatever, but they haven't been a real indie label for years. Not saying that's bad or anything, I love FBR.
