06:45 PM on 05/04/12 | Jack you need to stop comparing being in a band with people to being coworkers at a company. It's not the same.

06:49 PM on 05/04/12 | Jason told her the mgmt is trying to get in touch with her. She admitted to ignoring them.
Your entire view on this is assuming she's being honest, and he's a liar. We have nothing to show for EITHER of them. Like Jason said, neither side is being 100% honest.
Also, let's say all of her accusations are 1000% true, meaning she had no say, hates what the band has become, and doesn't trust management - THEN QUIT. It's extremely unfortunate her health is the culprit here, but if this is all "for the fans," then why not let the fans enjoy He Is We? What she's doing is extremely hurting the band that she apparently wants to be a part of badly. |
She said she hasn't heard from anyone in weeks. I'm thinking that she got frustrated, starting tweeting and that's when they called her. Plausible, right? If someone who you've been trying to talk to for 2 weeks is ignoring you and then only wants to talk after you do something that could hurt them would you be eager to talk to them?
Why quit when it seems to be quite clear that they're moving on without her? Also she loves her fans enough to let them know what's going on. I'd take honesty over protecting a band that doesn't seem to give about fuck you.

This statement is exactly what's wrong with small band thinking, but that's a whole different conversation.
I'm not saying he should have bashed her back, I'm saying that if the allegations made weren't true he probably would've said they weren't. If my coworker bashes me on twitter I'm going to say it's not true. 2+2=4 |
If you think any publicist with half a brain would let him refute claims against the girl that's still in his band, you're crazy.
Guys, all I'm asking for is a ceasefire. Not one person here has enough information to accuse either Rachel or Trevor of being dishonest.

What's wrong with that statement? You create something together over a mutual love for and need to create something, you spend weeks or months living with each other on the road. At a company you both just interview with the same person who hires you and you see each other maybe five days a week if that maybe not even working together. It's not the same.

Why quit? Quit because she thinks her bandmates are forcing her out. I'm not saying that's the case - but if it's true, isn't that what we would all do? Leave?

06:50 PM on 05/04/12 | I like her voice a lot and I hope the time off will help her heal. I hope her band mates didn't screw her over like that and if they did that's disgusting.

06:51 PM on 05/04/12 | Trevors response just came off to me as "Yeah what she's saying is true, but come on... You guys are awesome"

Weird... cause you seemed to be accusing her of being dishonest from the start.

Yes, playing music is absolutely an art form, but it's also a business. These people don't work 9-5, this is their job, and if they wish to continue doing it, they should think that way more often. You criticize my company example, but like I said, this would have never happened in a real company - both employees would be fired instantly. She decided to make this public, and mark my words - it will kill the band.
"You create something together over a mutual love for and need to create something, you spend weeks or months living with each other on the road." You just described every small business and start-up in America, including two I am/was a part of.

I think any publicist would because at this point He is We is getting a pretty shitty name for all of this at the moment. Rachel's accusations make Trevor, Stevie, the label, management, pretty much everyone look like total assholes (just scan the thread and you can see that) so at this point if you don't even take the time to say something like "there's two sides to this" in a 600 word statement, then yeah people are going to assume it's true and that's worse for your image than just stating that not everything that's been said is true, it's just a misunderstanding, and we'll deal with it internally. If you are going to take the time to make the statement you are already acknowledging it publicly, so saying they want to keep it internal really doesn't apply. He made very lengthy statement that said nothing other than to imply that Rachel is just over emotional from being sick. He's already made it public, so state your case. With a band the court of public opinion is very much in play so you have to play the game a little, and that statement did nothing but make him come off as more of a douche. I would love for a ceasefire to be called, I'd also prefer that the guy didn't make the implications he did about a girl who is very sick and feels she has been wronged.

I am inclined to agree with this.

06:56 PM on 05/04/12 | He Is We's (possible ghost writer) twitter posted this:
There is a lot of talk going around. Email with any of your question. heiswefans(at)gmail(dot)com
I wonder what that leads to. Are they personally replying with their side to the questions or what?

Small business is obviously different than big bang companies like I assumed you were talking about
Music is a business but the business isn't (shouldn't) be the reason you're together. Thats the difference. I doubt this will kill the band. Bands have drama all the fucking time and live through it.

06:58 PM on 05/04/12 | come on guys, Jack knows how small bands operate, he started a website, and lived with that person that he started a website with, and spent countless hours driving around the country with them, and playing songs with them etc.
