So I've just finished watching all three seasons of Arrested Development and have caught up on Game of Thrones. Now I need a new show to fill this whole in my life. I know these are all old (except Mad Men) but I like watching shows in large chunks and have heard great things about all of them.

I just finished Firefly the other day, so since it's so fresh, my vote definitely goes to that. Mad Men is a close second, but wait until that's on the off season and catch up with all 5 seasons, since that show is so rewarding to watch straight through. I just started The Wire yesterday, and have really enjoyed the three episodes I've gone through. Yet to check the other 3.

Definitely The Wire. I love all of those shows, but it's the best by far.

Firefly because it's only a handful of episodes and a movie. Then my order would be Lost, Mad Men, Battlestar Gallactica, Buffy (love Buffy, but it is the longest, and make sure you watch Angel too). I've never watched the Wire...should get on it, but don't have the time.

Depends on what you're looking for. I think that out of all of the choices, Lost is the one that really gets in your head and consumes your life more than any of the others, although they're all amazing in their own ways. It definitely fills that hole if you let it.

I feel that the Wire was the best TV show I have ever seen, and I would highly suggest watching that. However, make sure you give it the time it deserves. Also wouldn't suggest watching a season in a day or two because it starts becoming a lot to digest, and you will finish the entire series and get pissed at yourself for watching it too fast, cause there's only one first time through with the Wire.

not saying that it is the best show of those available, but lost is one of the most addictive shows I've ever seen.
supposing that you are interested in spending large amounts of time watching a single program, it would be my suggestion.
