It's really aggravating! You either pay $300 to see a few bands you want to see or wait till they come back around in a year or two.
I bucked up and bought a Saturday ticket to Pitchfork and a Sunday ticket for Lolla. I'm gonna see a ton of bands I like for around $135 total I think? I'm grateful I live close enough to Chicago to enjoy it's lively music scene and festivals. I would just much prefer seeing someone like Youth Lagoon at the Metro or Lincoln Hall and not outside next to a baseball field, haha. Same with Sigur Ros: Chicago Theater > outside in the mud.

I feel the same way, but what most aggravating is the restrictions lolla puts on most of the bans that play the festival. so even if they wanted to play another small gig outside of lolla they really couldn't.
