I bought it & I really really liked it.
It's catchy, and something to dance to when you're in the mood.
This review catches how I feel about the album
It does have it's flaws though.
But I know, I will not listen to this album in the next month.
I know I'm late, but I kind of love this album. I was turned way off with "While the City Sleeps," so much so that I didn't even bother checking out the new album until a friend played one of their new tracks. I really liked it, so I decided to give in and listen, and I found I staunchly prefer it to the former.
I agree with most of this review.
Midtown seems to shine in comparison, but Cobra Starship isn't the worst result that could have been produced afterword. It is a step in a different direction, afterall, and playing around with a different general genre of music so being a Midtown fan it may be a bit biased to judge accurately.
This album seems a bit rushed, if truth be told, and very rare are choruses as catchy or upbeat as on their previous record.
I like this album a lot because it's so fun, but I definitely agree with some of the things said in this review. Like, they definitely shouldn't have muted the instruments so much. I think that's why it sounded more like an album from a solo act rather than a band. I think they needed a song along the same lines as "The Church of Hot Addiction," and with that, they didn't deliver.
I don't know what line the writer was talking about in "Damn You Look Good and I'm Drunk (Scandalous)," though.
