One that no one listed but I know myself and a bunch of others had ridiculous expectations was Protest the Hero's Fortress. Within a couple of listens it was clear that they not only had met but surpassed all expectations for that album. I love that album and judging by the opinions of others regarding the new album I am not the only one.

TREOS - The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi
Brand New - TDAG
Reel Big Fish - Why Do They Rock so Hard
Streetlight Manifesto - Somewhere in the Between
Hellogoodbye - Would it Kill You?
The Hippos - Heads are Gonna Roll
Goldfinger - Hang ups
Less Than Jake - Hello Rockview
Death Cab - Transatlanticism
Alkaline Trio - From Here to Infirmary
Thursday - War all the Time
Zebrahead - Playmate of the Year
Blink 182 - Enema of the State

For those of you saying any Saves the Day album after Through Being Cool, I think you're crazy: Every Saves the Day album has been a disappointment to me since Through Being Cool. Even though I like Stay What You Are and Sound the Alarm, imho, they just don't meet the expectations built by Through Being Cool.

I'd have to put La Dispute's Wildlife on this list. I started checking them out not too long before that album came out. I liked a couple songs from Somewhere at the Bottom..., but it didn't blow me away. But I was curious about the new album. After hearing initial reaction to the album, I definitely wanted to check out the entire thing. This album just knocks me on my ass everytime I listen to it. Such emotion was put into making this and it's amazing how much it has impacted me. To this day, the album gets better upon each listen. It has catapaulted it's way into my all-time top 3 albums.

What a great topic...All of the above would make my list too, I would also add Taking Back Sunday's "Where You Want To Be" and Coheed and Cambria's "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3"

The new Daytrader album. I was really into all the stuff they've put out in the past 2 years, and had really high expectations for the full length. FSF's The Moon is Down is my favorite album of all time, and I was hoping this would be the next best thing (until they drop their upcoming album with Chris). Not only does this album sufficiently do that, but it has it's own, glorious take on today's emo/indie/punk sound... Easily my aoty (even knowing fsf is putting out an album this year)

Wildlife - La Dispute. One of my favorite bands, so I knew I would enjoy it. But damn, I can't imagine how any album could ever be better.

Fun. - Some Nights

Don't like it as much as A&I, but I didn't think it'd even come close because A&I was so perfect to me. That said, Some Nights is still much, much better than I imagined or expected it to be.

Also, Relient K - Forget and Not Slow Down. I thought it'd be more of the same fun RK, but it was a much more personal and straight up great album than I ever expected it to be.

Agree with Relient K but Some Nights=false

The Always Open Mouth, anyone?? After OHPS and Art Damage, this was a punch in the guts to everything I had been listening to in the best way possible. Fear Before was pretty stellar, too. Consistently curse everything for this band ending.

On Letting Go - Circa Survive (still remember counting down for this and being blown the fuck away, and even more after seeing it live)
Define the Great Line - Underoath (on repeat for that entire summer)
Cycles - Code Orange Kids (I didn't know how they'd top their demo and EM//EM but holy shit)
The Lack Long After - Pianos Become the Teeth (another one where I didn't think it was possible to top their previous release but they proved me so, so wrong)

And most recently for me Ceremony's Zoo and Now, Now's Threads.

From Indian Lakes - LP #2

I got to know these guys when they did their first record with my best friend Dryw (also in consider the thief) and had the pleasure of having them stay in my super small place in Sacramento.

They finished their 2nd album a while back (also with dryw) and I got to hear the rough mixes, and I am just blown away. The jump they made from their first record is astounding. I listen to that thing non-stop.

TL;DR - cool brag guys I got to listen to an unreleased album
That's my NUMBER 1 Anticipated of the year.
FIL is one of my biggest influences, so I'm really excited for it.
