i think kickstarter is stupid. i didnt know it was my job to pay for the music before it was made. maybe i would donate the price of the cd if i got a free copy when i was done. ya know, like a paycheck advance. |
Most of them do offer that option. A lot of the time they'll also have cool exclusives and offers thrown in. So in most cases it's really more like you're preordering the album, or else buying music in the artist's hour of need. However, in most cases it's a band that already has music out, or it's established musicians starting a new project with a defined goal, so you have a real reason to support it. This crap is just some guys who used to be in a band saying they need money to start an undescribed new band.
