I'm trying to get a head start on my senior project this summer, and have no idea what to pick for a topic. I know what interests me (politics, foreign affairs, history, the counterculture movement, the Beats, mental illness, etc.), but I just can't seem to come up with something to sustain an entire project.

Basically, I'll need to be able to write a ten-page paper on it, create a product, or organize an event to benefit an organization or whatever that benefits/works with my topic.

Any ideas?

i dunno, you could write a paper about US health care? plenty to cover, and you can compare to health care in other countries. not sure about a relevant product (a form of affordable health insurance?), but i'm sure you can find an organization to benefit.

Your product could be asking your classmates to write poetry inspired by the monotony of school. Your event could be a poetry reading.

How 50 Shades of Grey is a huge stepping stone to eliminating the stigma behind sex in media is something that's been on my mind a lot lately.
