We Shot the Moon + Ex-Sherwood = Kickstarter

Posted by - 06:06 PM on 05/25/12
We Shot the Moon has launched a Kickstarter to help release their 3rd album Love & Fear. Singer Jonathan Jones has teamed up again with former Sherwood members Dan Koch & Joe Greenetz, the same lineup as the first WSTM album back in 2007. Koch co-wrote and produced the album, and Joe played drums. All backers of the project will receive immediate downloads of 4 new or remixed songs.

This is going to be great. Love Jonathan Jones, Composure by Waking Ashland is extremely underrated.

His We Shot The Moon material is solid as well.

How would you describe these guys? And where would you suggest starting?

Sounds like a cool project, and Sherwood was great.

Piano pop rock. It has a lot of Christian themes too as Jonathan Jones does some faith based music.

Some of my personal favorites include "Sway Your Head", "Perfect Time", "Tunnel Vision", "The Bright Side", and "Amarillo".

They have two full lengths "Fear and Love" which I found to be softer, more melodic piano based pop-Rick songs. While "A Silver Lining" is a little more diverse. Standout track on the latter is definitely "The Bright Side".

Anyways, love this band. Jonathan Jones is pretty awesome. Happy to see the amount of pledges done here...

Jonathan Jones has a truly awesome discography.

As for We Shot The Moon, check out A Silver Lining. Please immediately purchase Composure by Waking Ashland if you have somehow not heard it. His last solo record Community Group was also really great. Lots of piano, lots of melody, not overproduced gimmick bullshit. Just great indie-pop-piano rock with a solid dose of singer/songwriter stuff thrown in.

Will hopefully be backing this project, and I'm really excited to see everything that comes from it.

Going to back this, and not just because Sherwood are/were one of my favourite bands. Excited for this.

And yes, Sherwood was a great band. Very under the radar. Sing But Keep Going was a terrific record.
