Whenever I ask if someone has attended something in southern Ontario/Quebec no one ever answers me, haha. But did anyone check out NXNE this week? How about D-Tox Rock Fest?

New Metric cd is incredible I dont think it will blow up like fantasies did but its still fantastic. Cant wait to see them in September:D

Was super busy this week, so I didn't get a chance to go to any of the NXNE small shows. BUT I made sure to catch Portugal. The Man playing at Yonge-Dundas Square last night! Was pretty sweet to see them in a headlining slot like that - hopefully they made lots of new fans (I know a few of my friends are fans of them now)

A 40 minute set before the final band, The Flaming Lips, is not considered a headlining spot.

Matthew Good played Friday night and he fuckin' killed it. Didn't expect it from him.

Thanks for refreshing my memory as to what a 'headliner' is. I was generalizing, that among the over 700 artists performing as part of NXNE, their name received a large font size on the posters, and they played second last Saturday night. Obviously I think they're good enough and big enough to deserve that slot - because they're one of my favourite bands, but I was still pleased by it.

i was gonna head to NXNE but there was no hotels with rooms left

I caught the Lumineers at the 'shoe... was a fantastic show!

also, Library Voices are terrific live!

Don't sleep on Dangercat! New video is a good time.

Awesome! They got so many good bands playing at Yonge-Dundas for free this year, which I think is pretty cool.

Why not? I haven't seen him live yet (keep putting it off) but when I do I expect it will be a great show.

Too bad. I'm not surprised though, lots of people come from all over to experience the festival. And they jack up the prices too, haha. The place I stayed at last August wants quite a bit more, but it's also a 30 second walk to Yonge-Dundas Square.

I still need to see Library Voices. I like what I've heard on their records though.

Don't get me wrong. I think Matt Good fuckin rules. But last time I saw him it was super subdued. He played like a greatest hits set, which set off all fans into a frenzy. We were a bit late getting there from preshow drinks and we could hear this crowd chanting "K-I-C-K-A-S-S. That's the way we spell success". It was incredible!
