Why announce a cancellation of something that was never announced?

Didn't even know about this. Guess it was kept secret from me well enough

it was silly, the Bay Area gets real secret Green Day gigs and this one was going to be some highly-publicized, outdoor, free event...hardly the same thing

I would have gone. I saw them do a secret show here in LA before American Idiot and it was amazing.

just because it wasn't announced doesn't mean that people don't know about it...

It WAS announced, Billie Joe announced it on his twitter last week, just not the location or anything. But he made it obvious it would be a bigger affair than previous secret shows. And I don't see why he would mention it at all before they even had the permits for it

I live just outside of Burbank.. and I hadn't heard a peep.

FUCK ME, I was going to get to go to that. I didn't think there was anyway they could pull that one off.

maybe they are saying it to throw people off. Or they could just play Warped Tour instead.

Was wondering the same thing, thass my hood and there's not really any spot to hold a huge outdoor show that I know of..
