Anton, myspace is a great tool and can be very informative/comprehensive, HOWEVER, like other fads before it, myspace can become a thing of the past very quickly. This will leave a ton of bands in the dust with no official home on the web. A band's .com/.net will always be around and is permanent and will never go out of style.

Very well said. I agree, I always like it when bands have a website. It gives me the impression that they take their careers more seriously.
