Something smells fishy. An ad agency isn't going to just use a song without acuqiring the permissions for it. Seems like thier songs were probably on some "fair game" list from the label, Black Keys didn't realize it, and now are suing to try and preserve their "cred".

I don't exactly have a reason why, but The Black Keys piss me off every time they open their mouth. Kinda like The Dangerous Summer, except with shittier music

i find it highly unlikely/surprising that companies that big would use a song without permission, maybe they sidestepped the band and went through the label? can't the label let the music be licensed if they own the rights?

This is misleading. It's definitely not their music being used. It's soundalike music, kind of like how movies and shows will use a modified version of 2 Unlimited "Get Ready for This" because they can't afford the actual song. This sounds like "Gold On The Ceiling," but it's not.

It sucks, but it's not infringement.
