Deadmau5 has published a blog about live performances of electronic dance music titled "We All Push Play." It gives some insight into what EDM performers actually do during live shows, which seems to be a topic of hot debate at times.
At least he can admit all of this. When it comes down to it, most of these people are not looking for an experience of great artistry when they go to EDM shows.
Deadmau5 almost always comes off as an ass lol. But it's clear that he has a really deep respect for his genre and I can definitely respect his honesty. Stoked to see him at VELD.
It drives me insane that people like him and Skrillex make soooo much fucking money per show for shit like that.
So people making money off their creations being played(Literally, just being played.) live drives you insane? A lot of things must drive you insane then.
I'm not into EDM at all, but I really enjoyed his set yesterday. Not because of his music, but because he's right: it's all about the stage show and the atmosphere. Everyone in the tent was going crazy, which made the experience a lot of fun.
