In what sense do they have the "Rise Records Sound"? |
They even said in their issue of Alternative Press that on their first album they were just trying to create the Rise Records sound. And it's VERY apparent. If you don't know what the Rise sound is, then you don't listen to a lot of the earlier rise albums. They all kind of sound the same, they have the same breakdowns, the same fake Joey Sturgis drums, sing a part - scream a part. Obviously Rise has diversified a lot in the last few years. But, for a while they were for screamo what Drive Thru was to pop punk back in the day.
Their second album is definitely a step in the right direction. I'm hoping they ditch the screaming all together and just write solid rock songs.
