I'm all for instituting literacy tests again at this point. Most 16 year olds couldn't name a single local candidate and would rather watch Jersey Shore than inform themselves.

No one knows "all there is to know" but a basic idea of the history and platform of each candidate at least would be nice. And let's not ONLY watch CNN or ONLY FOX. Skewed news is up there with no news.

Hell no! We already have enough 18 year olds who only vote for somebody because their favorite band/reality tv personality told them to without properly educating themselves. We don't need impressionable 16 year olds being a part of the decision making process of this country.
